About me

My name is Pablo Freire Matos. I have experience in computer science. I have done research about database lately, more specifically about text mining, information extraction, machine learning and natural language processing. I was virtual tutor in the Bachelor of Information Systems at Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), in which I taught the Database Management subject. I was also tutor in the course of Systems Development and Analysis at Universidade Norte do Paraná (UNOPAR) and substitute professor at Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia Baiano (IF Baiano). Currently, I am professor at Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia da Bahia (IFBA). I obtained my master's degree at UFSCar, department of Computer Science.

• Joomla! is the dynamic portal engine and content management system (CMS). It is the most popular open source CMS. It is possible to download a presentation made in portuguese by myself and other material such as book and video, here. GBD and SCA projects are examples of websites developed by myself using Joomla!.

• EndNote is a software tool for publishing and managing bibliographies. Here it is possible to see the presentation about EndNote X2 made by myself (in portuguese - year 2009). An actual presentation about EndNote X6 (also in portuguese) may be seen here. The ABNT style used in my master dissertation may be downloaded here. See in the aforementioned presentation for detail of how it is possible to add a new style. Feel free to ask me about EndNote. Ah! It is possible to use the EndNote Web as well.

My Hobbies

My hobbies include swimming, radical sports (e.g., tyrolese, rafting, parachute,...) and soccer, as an authentic brazilian. Someone may say that I am a good computer scientist when it comes to play soccer. I do not believe so. We won the 2009 computer championship at UFSCar undefeated. Here it is possible to watch the final game. I am the number seven. Other grateful hobbies are: reading of literature books, watching of movies and travelling around the world.
